Ukrzaliznytsia is Ready for Reorientation of Crimean Passenger Traffic

Passenger traffic to Crimea by train has decreased in a half, as compared to April, May 2013.

For this reason, State Railways Administration of Ukraine Ukrzaliznytsia forecasted the reorientation of passengers traffic from the peninsula to other regions of the country in the direction of Odesa, Berdiansk, Henichesk, Kherson and Western Ukraine, head of the main passenger department at Ukrzaliznytsia Ihor Breus has told reporters at a press conference in Kyiv.

Experts have predicted, that following Crimea’s annexation, tourist season was to fail.

However, Crimean Premier Aksyonov earlier assured journalists, that the peninsula expects to see at least three million tourists this year, which is half of last year’s total, even if the railway connection with Russia that goes through Ukraine does not get restarted.

Now, he accuses Ukraine of the lack of tourists in Crimea, noting Ukrainian railroad, that used to transport 80% of tourists now is not able to provide the delivery.
