At least 30 men attacked 10 football fans from the United Kingdom Sunday evening on the main street of Ukraine’s capital Khreshchatyk. The attackers hid their faces under hoods, and had knives, according to the Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine edition.
“We came for the match between England and Ukraine. We came in the cafe that we often attended during EURO 2012. We were sitting in the room, one of our friends went out to smoke. Men in hoods ran up to him and a fight broke out, we rushed to him to help,” the edition quotes of one of the England victims as saying.
An ambulance car hospitalized three foreigners: one with a stab wound, the other with a broken head after he was hit by a glass bottle, a third has severe bruising.
The police failed to arrest the instigators of the fight. All the guys in hoods fled.
