On January 13, 2014, at noon, the capital city Kyiv will join the popular initiative. The international No Pants Subway Ride flash mob, which originated in New York City in 2002, will make its way to Ukraine in 2014.
The flash mob, which takes place in a number of countries across the continents, started from the initiative of seven friends in NYC. At first it was called No Pants Day. The fun event has been taking place in the city annually since 2002. In 2013 hundreds of people around the world joined the Global No Pants Subway Ride initiative, supported by the group of activists – Improv Everywhere.
This year the flash mob spread to Berlin, Paris, Shanghai, Sydney, Mexico City and many other cities – all in all 60 regional No Pants Subway Rides took place on January 13, 2013, in over 25 countries across the world. So don’t forget to participate and surprise those subway passengers who were not warned!
Improv Everywhere is a New York City-based prank collective that causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places. Created in August of 2001 by Charlie Todd, Improv Everywhere has executed over 100 missions involving tens of thousands of undercover agents, reads improveverywhere.com.
