Goodbye summer with music and bicycles in Kyiv

On August 30 – September 1, 2013 the first musical bicycle festival Velorok will take place at Kyiv’s national landscape park Holosiyivskyi. The three days of the festival will feature the bicycle-related activities and music performances by popular Ukrainian rock bands.

The headliners of Velorok will include Tartak and Mamasweed. Other bands playing at the event will be YouCrane, O.Torvald, and Animals’ Session. The musical show will take place on August 31, 2013, at 7 p.m.

The cycling part of Velorok will feature an entertainment program – humorous contests, highway, downhill races, skateboarding activities, contests for children, cross-country, trials, a night bicycle quest, and a bicycle parade down the streets of Kyiv.

Tartak is a popular Ukrainian alternative rock, punk rock, and rap band, with history that goes back to 1996, when it was formed in western Ukrainian city of Lutsk. So far, they have released seven studio albums and 31 music videos.

Mamasweed is a German band, formed in 2000 in Berlin. The band plays metal, hard rock, and rock music. The quintet has just released their latest studio effort – Rock’n’Roll Is Not Dead! – and plans to promote it on tours across Europe and around the globe.
